Setting Sail
We are called to sail into uncharted waters, to step beyond ourselves and our places of comfort and into the perilous mission of love. As St. John Paul II put it, “Do not be afraid. Do not be satisfied with mediocrity. Put out into the deep and let your nets down for a catch.”

Life doesn’t come with a map.
The only thing we can know for certain about the future is that it will remain uncertain, unknown, and unpredictable. Yet we are not abandoned to explore the vast expanse of our lives unaided. Each of us is the recipient of many graces that offer protection, guidance, and inspiration as we navigate through the storms and shipwrecks that threaten to overwhelm us. A heartfelt conversation with a close friend. A song that puts words to the movements of our heart. A book that speaks Beauty and Truth to our souls. A Scripture verse that reminds us of God’s infinite and intimate love. And yet we need to keep our eyes open for these gifts, and often to actively seek them out, lest we succumb to the waves of doubt and fear that daily threaten to capsize our hearts.

Hi, my name is Anna-Marie. I’m a Catholic musician, writer, and self-confessed bibliophile who loves Jesus, hiking, dark chocolate, and the music of J.S. Bach. My favourite ways to spend a weekend include exploring new trails, checking books off of my Goodreads bucket list, curating Spotify playlists, and logging new bird sightings on eBird (some days I’m convinced I missed my calling as an ornithologist). I am a classically trained singer and choral conductor with a passion for languages, vocal technique, and sacred music. My favourite gospel is the Gospel according to John, and the authors whose novels I frequently enjoy re-reading include Laura Ingalls Wilder, L.M. Montgomery, Jane Austen, J.R.R.
